Reflecting on a Strong Start to 2026: Our Advice Services Impact
At our recent All Staff Day, our colleagues from across Toynbee Hall came together to celebrate the impact we have made so far in 2026. It was a chance to recognise the dedication, expertise and compassion of our Advice Services teams, and to reflect on the lives being changed through the support we provide every day.
Behind every case we see is a person navigating difficult circumstances, whether facing rising living costs, debt, mental and physical health challenges or housing insecurity.. Our advisers work alongside clients to provide not only practical solutions, but reassurance, advocacy and a sense of hope at times when people need it the most.
The start of 2026 has highlighted the strength of our collective efforts and the importance of ensuring people can access trusted advice when they need it most.
Our three month impact.
Between April and June 2026, our Advice Services:
- Supported 5,639 clients
- Opened 5,865 cases
- Secured £10.4 million in annual financial gains
Alongside this, our advisers helped to:
- Prevent 231 enforcement actions, including bailiff action
- Write off 140 debts
- Prevent 47 cases of homelessness
These figures represent much more than activity levels. They represent people who were able to avoid crisis, regain control of their finances and take steps towards a more secure future.
For someone struggling with unmanageable debt, the right advice at the right time can mean the difference between facing escalating pressure alone and having someone alongside them to find a way forward. For someone worried about losing their home, support from an adviser can provide the knowledge, confidence and practical help needed to prevent homelessness. For many clients, our services are the first step towards feeling financially stable again.
Supporting People Across Eight Services
Our Advice Services brings together eight specialist services, each responding to different needs across our communities. Together, they provide a wide range of support from debt advice and financial wellbeing guidance to legal support, cancer-related financial support and specialist advice for people facing particular challenges.
In April, May and June we supported:

Each service plays a vital role in ensuring people receive support that reflects their individual circumstances. Whether someone is experiencing financial difficulties because of illness, changes in income, debt pressures or wider life challenges, our teams provide tailored advice that helps people understand their options and make informed decisions.
Looking Ahead
These results are a testament to the expertise and commitment of colleagues across Toynbee Hall. Every conversation, every appointment and every successful outcome contributes to helping people build greater security and resilience.
We know that many people continue to face significant pressures, and our work remains as important as ever. By continuing to provide accessible, specialist and person-centred advice, we can help more people overcome challenges and access the support they need.
We’re proud of what we have achieved together so far and look forward to continuing this throughout the rest of 2026. 🧡
