Toynbee Hall was founded on the principles of volunteering, and we have been proudly placing volunteers at the heart of our work for over 130 years. All of our frontline services rely on volunteers – we really could not provide access to support and advice services without them.

Current opportunities

Community Advocate Volunteer – Rights and Information

Monday to Friday – Flexible
10am to 5pm – Flexible
Seven hours per week
Remote working

If you want to play a part in making sure that the people who most need their rights protecting have access to advice, information and support this could be the role for you: We are looking to create a small team of volunteer community advocates who will use their deep, grassroots, community connections to spread the word about the advice, information and support available through Toynbee Hall.

Community Wellbeing Volunteer

Monday to Friday – Flexible
10am to 5pm – Flexible
One hour per week

If you want to use your current skills and develop new ones while supporting people who are most affected by loneliness either due to isolation, lack of English, or digital exclusion, then this is a great opportunity to get involved and make a difference:

We are looking for Phone Befriending Volunteers, English Teacher Volunteers, and Digital Buddy Volunteers; and you can apply for either of the 3 roles, a combination of any 2, or even for all 3.
