The Big Give: just 24 hours left to support Toynbee Hall’s youth work

Support our Big Give campaign to have your donation towards our youth work doubled before midday 10th Dec

With just 1 day left of the Big Give Christmas fundraising challenge, we still have £7,220 to raise in order to support young people in East London to design social action projects that will have a real difference to the communities they live in.

Our campaign, Cultivating Young Change Makers, has already secured 24 donations totalling £15,780 over the past 6 days – a tremendous contribution which will underpin our work with young adults throughout 2020. Every donation through the campaign is doubled by our match-funding pot, meaning that individual gifts go twice as far compared to any other time of year.

All funds raised through the Big Give will to towards our youth work, which supports young people in the East End and beyond to lead social action projects that make a difference to the issues they care about. This year, we’re working with Sabrina (pictured), and supporting her ambitious social action project:

“I am developing a social enterprise to lower the rate of fixed period and permanent exclusions in state primary and secondary schools, by decreasing persistent disruptive behaviour. My project will deliver a 12 week programme to students, including workshops and 1:1 mentoring sessions. It will focus on students receiving free schools meals, students who have special educational needs, and pupils from black and minority ethnic communities.”

With only 24 hours left to unlock our remaining match-funding, there is no better time to support vital work with young people like Sabrina. Just £10 could enable two young people to travel to and from a skills-building workshop at Toynbee Hall; £50 could help provide refreshments at a youth achievement festival, providing an opportunity for participants to share the projects they have undertaken with the wider community.
