Accepting applications from: 08.03.18
Role type: Part time

Help us support the thousands of people needing legal advice every year.

Toynbee Hall’s Free Legal Advice Centre (FLAC), founded in 1898, is the oldest surviving Free Legal Advice Centre in the world. Our primary aim is to give free, independent and quality assured advice to members of the local community who are most in need of it. The Free Legal Advice Centre is dependent on the generous contributions of volunteer lawyers and law students, who give their time and expertise for free to provide the much-needed advice.

These positions are for individuals that have completed the LPC or BPTC . You will be providing legal advice to clients under supervision. This will be early stage advice and might include drafting a letter to a third party.
We need more pro bono legal advisers for each of the above Free Legal Advice Centre sessions.
What you will gain

This is an excellent opportunity to gain skills, knowledge and experience in dealing directly with clients.
You will get the opportunity to be part of the oldest pro bono law centre in the country and to shadow some of our experienced lawyers and corporate law partners.

All our volunteers will also have access to all legal training provided by Law Works.
We are able to provide travel expenses (off-peak up to zone 5) and for volunteers who attend for over 5 hours £5.00 lunch expenses.
