Residential Volunteer Programme 2010 - 2011
*******SECOND ROUND OF RECRUITMENT FOR THE PROGRAMME******* The Recruitment process for the Residential Programme 2010/11 is now open. All information regarding the programme including role descriptions and application forms is availabe on this page.
The aim of the Residential Volunteer (RV) Programme is to bring together a diverse group of people committed to voluntary action and support them in their personal development as volunteers. The Programme provides a unique opportunity for a small community of 8 ( 4 Subsidised* and 4 sponsored**)volunteers to live on-site in one of the most vibrant and multicultural areas of London. RVs are encouraged to work alongside our experienced staff and volunteers and become involved in our innovative social action programmes working with the poorest communities to improve conditions in the East End of London. We place the RV community at the heart of our work. And we are serious about it! Some of the most ambitious and groundbreaking of our projects have been started by volunteers. Examples of these include: Safe Exit, Toynbee Hall’s award-winning diversion scheme for women involved in on-street prostitution and Services Against Financial Exclusion (SAFE), a project that has helped 1,400 people open bank accounts and provided financial advice to hundreds of vulnerable service users since it began in 2002. We are looking for creative and determined individuals who are seriously committed to giving us their time, who are happy to work on their own as well as take part in group activities, have an interest in the voluntary sector and are not put off by its challenges. If this sounds like you please apply for one for the roles available this year.
