Venue Hire

Built over 100 years ago Toynbee Hall is a Grade II listed Arts and Crafts building and retains many of its original features. Situated within easy reach of the City, Liverpool Street Station and Aldgate East Underground Station, Toynbee Hall offers a convenient yet unique venue for a variety of events.

There are two halls available for hire, the Ashbee Hall and the Lecture Hall. Both halls can both seat up to 100 people theatre style. There is also a meeting room for hire, the Library that can seat 16 people boardroom style or up to 30 people theatre style.

Lecture Hall: An elegant wood-panelled room complete with latticed windows with mullioned surrounds, wooden floor and a carved wood and marble fireplace.

Ashbee Hall: The Room is still decorated in the arts and crafts style, retaining 'tree of life' medallions, Toynbee Hall’s logo, on the walls and shields of the Oxford and Cambridge colleges. Latticed windows with mullioned surrounds, wooden flooring and a marble and wood fireplace all help to create a unique atmosphere in this historic room. There is also a grand piano in the Ashbee Hall that can be used with your hall booking.

Booking

Download and complete the Venue Hire Terms and Conditions with Booking Form (in one document on the right), sign and date them.
Send both forms to Venue Hire, Toynbee Hall, 28 Commercial Street, London E1 6LS or fax forms to 020 7377 5964 or email to kendra.dutoit@toynbeehall.org.uk
Once your forms are received, you will be invoiced for your booking.
Once your booking is paid in full your booking will be confirmed.
Your booking will therefore be confirmed once we receive:
- Signed and dated Conditions of Hire
- Booking Form
- Full payment upon receipt of invoice

Please note that there is a 2.5% charge on credit card payments

When booking a hall we can provide self-service refreshments and some items of equipmemt, see the price lists on the right for more information. Please include any requiremetns on the booking form when you submit it.
