London Legal Walk 2019
Join us in walking for justice!
The annual London Legal Walk, organised by the London Legal Support Trust, is an opportunity for legal firms, chambers and companies to support free legal advice centres in the capital and the South East.
The 2019 walk will take place on Monday 17th June. Team Toynbee will be leaving our offices at 5pm, but will have someone at the Carey Street start line from 4pm. The walk is a scenic circular 10km route through Central London, and our team will be walking the Parks route, before ending in a huge street party on Carey Street.
By giving via our Virgin Money Giving page, all funds you raise to go towards Toynbee Hall’s Free Legal Advice Centre (FLAC). Toynbee Hall’s Free Legal Advice Centre (FLAC), believed to be the oldest continuously running pro bono advice centre in the world, celebrated its 120th anniversary last year, with congratulations and acclaim from some of the highest profile legal figures in the country, several of whom began their careers as FLAC volunteers. FLAC continues to serve the most in need people in East London and throughout London, offering access to justice for those who would not otherwise be able to afford legal support. Last year, FLAC advised over 800 people on nearly 1000 legal issues, enabling access to justice for those who would not have otherwise been able to afford the support they needed
“celebrate […] the enormous contribution Toynbee Hall make to access to justice for the benefit of so many members of the community who have nobody else to turn to.”Former President of the Supreme Court, Lord Neuberger
Rising demand for free legal advice across London and substantial cuts throughout the sector has made us acutely aware of the need to secure FLAC’s future, and ensure in can continue to support to those in need for years to come.
